Nathan Tubb - Who is he???

Who is Nathan Tubb? If you are a musician in the East Texas area of the world, than you have probably heard of him and possibly even played with him.  He’s a blues musician that is extraordinarily unique in his style of playing.  Why does he prefer a BIC lighter when he’s playing slide guitar?

He scored his first guitar at the age of 13; it was a Christmas present from his mom.  Nathan has never had any formal training or lessons, which is astonishing if you have had the privilege of watching and hearing him play.  His style is different to say the least and his tone is, well…give it a listen!

Nathan plays in a band called Hubcap and The Loose Nuts as guitar and vocals.  His band mates include Larry Pierce on drums and vocals, Jerry McCoy on bass and vocals, and of course the harp player Tad Phillips.  The blues-based band was formed towards the end of 2010 and they like to mix in classic rock as well as country.  Click on the link on the menu above to find out more about Hubcap and The Loose Nuts.

This is the fifth year the band has been nominated for Blues Band of the Year at the East Texas Music Awards and though they have not yet “won” the award they keep playing the hell out of the blues.  Voting for the ETX Music Awards is going on now and ends on July 22, 2017! Please go to: etxmusic.com to cast your vote for Hubcap and the Loose Nuts as the Blues band of the year OR click on the "VOTE etxmusic.com" button located to the left and vote now! Also, vote for Nathan Tubb on Guitar, Jerry McCoy on Bass, and Tad Phillips on Harp.

The band would like to thank you for your support and for everyone that has taken the time to nominate Hubcap and the Loose Nuts for Blues band!!!
